Globally, gender inequality and norms on the acceptability of violence against women are a root cause of violence against women. Global health issues in need of attention are violence against women. Violence against women crosses all socioeconomic classes. It affects communities locally, nationally, and globally. Violence against women is a serious health issue because their safety and children’s safety are always at risk. Women worldwide are daily victims of violence. This book is an overview of the literature addressing the violence of women and children related to inequalities in our society. The author has developed a conceptual framework for conceptualizing violence of women and children on a global level: Global Model for Conceptualizing Violence Against Women and Children. This book includes the types of violence. Diverse issues of violence impacting women and children are discussed: (a) human trafficking, child-bride, female circumcision, and “Honour” killing.
